Review of Hidden Figures (2016) by Bobby C — 07 Mar 2017
Hidden Figures was the odd-film out during this year's Academy Awards. I still am dumbfounded how a film that has possibly the best ensemble cast could not bring home a single Academy Award. Lack of awards aside, this film was a breath of fresh air for historical dramas.
Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monae are worth the price of admission alone. Pairing their performances with Kevin Costner, Mahershala Ali, and Aldis Hodge and you have a great film. If I had the job of awarding Best Picture, I would have awarded it to Hidden Figures.
