Review of Hesher (2010) by Tim L — 15 Oct 2011
Taking a turn away from the typical clean-cut and nerdy characters we are used to seeing JGL portray, Hesher is a long haired, heavy metal, destructive anarchist and apparent antagonist to the teenage boy who the film is centered around.
However, in a strange 'nut sack' analogy way, he transforms into the voice of reason and savior for the boy and his father (Wilson) by the end of the story. The primary problem for the film as a whole is that Hesher is far more interesting than the main character and you're left wanting more of him.
In fact, he is one of the best characters of the year in any movie.
