Review of Hesher (2010) by Goblin K — 09 Jun 2012
I liked Hesher but I didn't love it. JGL is fantastic and the soundtrack is mint. Even the child actor, Devin Brochu, was unusually natural instead of the usual pretentious child-actor. The problem is, the film doesn't really seem to know where it's going or what it's doing.
Some films can pull that off and it doesn't matter but I felt Hesher (as a film, not the character) kinda needed a bit more structure. Sometimes it's a comedy, sometimes a drama, sometimes something else but it swung that little bit too wildly from one to the next.
If it had flowed better it would've been a great film instead of just an OK film.
