Review of Herø (2001) by Yash B — 06 Mar 2016
Spike Jonze's "Her" will slowly, beautifully, and intelligently break your heart. The film is just so thought provoking and boldly original. It has a lot to say about relationships and technology.
Joaquin Pheonix's performance is brilliant and his character is almost instantly likable. The movie has so many scenes that are literally just people (or an operating system I suppose) talking and its truly great dialogue.
All of the performances are spot on and Scarlett Johannsson's voice is captivating. This film is just a treat for film lovers and is a truly relevant romance that hits you and will be a conversation starter for many.
I think only a handful of sequences tend to drag on but it doesn't take away from much. The film makes up for them just because of the bold take on love and the future.
