Review of Herø (2001) by Arianna B — 18 Jun 2015
It is obvious that the movie is trying to make a point about how human relationships are changing thanks to technology. What was for me the main message of the movie was that although surrounded by devices that becomes more and more advanced, people are getting more and more lonely.
The future scenario where the action take place depicts a very comfortable life, but also a very dry, a bit creepy and dominated by solitude. People do not write anymore personal letters to each other, there is a service for that.
On the positive side, it highlights how important is in a relationship the communication part, so much that in this case, it is the only existing way of contact for two entities.
And if all is based on conversation, the choice of the OS voice is crucial and surely Scarlett Johansson makes a brilliant performance impersonating Samantha.
