Review of Herø (2001) by Mark H — 05 Mar 2016
Choke me with that dead cat!
Theodore is going through a painful divorce. He is a lonely writer that has issues connecting with people. New cutting edge technology has delivered an operating system to meet your every emotional and psychological needs; and in some ways, physical needs. Their relationship grows in ways Theodore never dreamed of.
"I hate women. All they do is cry.".
Spike Jonze, director of Where the Wild Things Are, Being John Malkovich, and Adaptation, delivers Her. Jonze also wrote this picture. The storyline is very good and reminded me of Vanilla Sky and Lars and the Real Girl. The acting really pulls the plot through and the cast delivers awesome performances. The cast includes Joaquin Phoenix, Chris Pratt, Amy Adams, and Scarlett Johansson.
"Who are you? What can you be?".
I was very excited when I saw this landed on HBOGO as this was a movie I was anxious to see. The quality of this film is very good and Phoenix is outstanding in the main role. The story is sad but concludes wonderfully. Overall, this was a masterfully well done film that should have been up for best picture.
"I like our photograph.".
Grade: A+.
