I always thought I'd adore Her for being out of the usual and for having an undeniably interesting concept. Throughout the entire film, I was waiting for something, a dialog or an event perhaps, that would make me feel wholly connected to it. But it never happened. It felt like it was trying to get there, but it never got there. Nevertheless, it was a beautiful film with many stunning scenes.
(SPOILER ALERT).
Just putting it out there, I believe that Theodore never loved Samantha. Like love love. All the while, it was his wife whom he truly loved. Samantha was just exactly the one he needed at the time when he needed it most. It is one of the things about Her that I find amazing- showing people that sometimes it just isn't love no matter how real it felt at that moment.
