Review of Hereditary (2018) by Rio P — 08 Jun 2018
This has been hyped at the scariest movie ever. It's not. But is is one of the most intense, emotionally draining movies I've seen. The pain these characters go through is palpable. The slow pace will turn some viewers away, but it is there for a reason.
The tension needs time to build. This isn't a jumpscare thrill ride. It's a tension marathon. This move is as much arthouse as it is horror and I love that about it. Also, the acting is amazing and Toni Colette deserves an Oscar nom.
Great movie. Highly recommend.
