Review of Hereditary (2018) by James L — 18 Jun 2018
What looked like a creepy atmospheric horror about a strange connection between a recenty deceased grandmother and granddaughter with the mother (a superb performance by Collette) trying desperately to put the pieces together pulled a lousy bait-and-switch and turned into another schlocky seance/possession movie.
The first and second acts are mere red herrings leading to a messy, unsatisfying ending where every character the audience was set up to connect with didn't matter a single bit.
