I detest so called mediums and Psychic's. They are vile people who prey on the vulnerable . They give false hope to people who have lost loved ones or who have been through rough times. They are con artists - Full stop.

But I digress.

Hereafter is an interesting movie that revolves around three sets of people. One a Psychic ( Matt Damon) who has given up doing readings , A french journalist who has a near death experience during a tsunami and finally a British twin who loses his brother in a road accident.

Directed by Clint Eastwood this film is a story of how the three come together thanks to their own personal experiences.

While this film is a little disjointed I really liked it. Somehow the stories never feel real enough yet there is something about movies directed by Eastwood that make them highly watchable.

The beginning of this film is stunning. The shots of the tsunami are breath taking as are scenes where the journalistic is being carried through the streets. I only wish more of the budget had been spent on making London less grim.

Even though I liked this film it is deeply flawed. Especially when the boy goes to many different professionals to try to contact his brother. This is a boy who wouldn't talk to anyone yet he ,managed to persuade them to do that.

The critics panned hereafter but not me . This is a film well worth watching regardless of if you believe in the con men masquerading as hope.
