Review of Hereafter (2010) by Blaine C — 16 Aug 2011
The movie is basically three separate stories about the lives of three individuals, and how death affected their lives. There's the French Anchorwoman; An American Psychic, and an English kid. It is a bit disconcerting watching one storyline switch to another as each story seem to have no connection whatsoever to the other.
The movie is generally uneven; There are times when it is interesting, but there are also spots where it all seems to be dragging. And the movies around a full two hours.
As you watch the movie, you do assume that their storylines will cross somewhere, and it does at the end. However, it is a sort of anticlimax, as the meshing of together of the three stories are sort of superficial, or shallow.
Overall a good movie, but nothing really special. You won't really miss much if you don't get to watch it, and sort of just decent to pass the time.
