I am not surprised that critics or fans did not like this. The average moviegoer would find this boring, anti-climatic, and with not enough obvious emotion to appreciate it, but Eastwood and Damon actually give us a lot of emotion in a much more realistic view on if people could really communicate with the afterlife.
