Review of Hereafter (2010) by Willfromsf W — 06 Nov 2011
This movie is so pretentious and lame. Saw it on HBO. Thank God, I never spent money on it. Matt Damon at his worst - seems to sleep-walk through the movie until a clueless end that cops out. Seems to be all about the living communicating with the dead and yet there really isn't any communication going on.
The French woman's story is particularly directionless. Damon goes through the movie running away from his "gift". The reading he does with the boy was the high point in that it was realistic, but not very moving or illuminating.
The conection between the three individuals is forced and fleeting. Hokey acting and I guess bad directing.
