Review of Herb & Dorothy (2009) by Paula H — 28 Mar 2009
The peculiar, decades-long career of frugal but prolific art collecting by one extraordinary couple, tenderly documented here by Megumi Sasaki, patiently digs into the entire ethos of art: its creation, patronage, and general appreciation.
It can sometimes only obliquely answer the relevant questions, but it's always appropriately poetic and interesting. Plus, there are cool little asides that touch on the early histories, romance, and current lives of these two thoroughly awesome old people.
