Review of Henry's Crime (2010) by Cheewai L — 30 Sep 2011
Keanu Reeves plays the character of Henry, a man lacking ambitions, drive, ideas. God what a boring existance! Henry is a toll collector in Buffalo NY working the graveyard shift. He sees people going places whereas he is going nowhere. His wife even wonders if he still loves her since his life is so predictable. One morning a friend asks a favor- if he can play first base at a baseball game since one of the guys got sick. Henry says yes but unknown to him, the real plan was to use him as the getaway driver in a bank robbery. Henry gets caught and since he is not a snitch, he takes the fall and goes to prison for three years. While in prison Henry meets another inmate named Max (James Caan) who shows him the ropes and also helps plant an idea in Henry's mind which will change his life forever: for a man to find his purpose, he must first have a dream.
After Henry is released, he does find his dream and purpose! Having done the time, he decides he may as well do the crime so this time Henry decides to really rob the bank..Ironically not only he found a dream but love along the way, which is something many of us yearn for...Recommended!
