Review of Henry Poole Is Here (2008) by Prasad P — 01 Jan 2009
A character-driven drama from the director of the superb "Arlington Road," this one will not be to all tastes, but has a sense of humanity and is compelling in its own way. Luke Wilson plays Henry Poole, a man who moves to his childhood neighbourhood to spend his last days.
There he is finds his ability to believe in life, mainly through the 'miracle' of a water stain on an outside wall that the neighbourhood thinks is the face of Jesus Christ. Ultimately, this film is rare in that it is what you choose to make of it.
