Review of Hellraiser: Hellseeker (2002) by Johnathon W — 19 Oct 2014
Disappointing entry to the franchise that wastes the return of Ashley Laurence & just repeats the themes of "Inferno". It is great to see Laurence's Kirsty Cotton acting against Doug Bradley's Pinhead again, if only briefly, but the character isn't consistent from her appearances in the first two films.
Reportedly, they only changed the character to Kirsty Cotton after Laurence became available but even she disagrees with her actions in the film. For a better look at what Kirsty Cotton did after "Hellbound", check out the BOOM Studios "Hellraiser" comic series.
The rest of the cast is solid, with Dean Winters making a compelling lead while director Rick Bota gives some atmospheric direction. Unfortunately, the film is more confusing than mysterious, with the twist ending just repeating what the previous film, "Inferno", already did.
Disappointing and a waste of Laurence's return to the series.
