Review of Hellraiser: Bloodline (1996) by Kristian M — 11 May 2011
Better than its predecessor Hellraiser III, Hellraiser: Bloodline remains a disappointing entry in the series. The film remains somewhat interesting to me because it depicts the origins of the box or Lament Configuration as it is named.
Essentially divided into three stories (one in a French libertine past, one in the present, and one in the future). Really, the film suffers most from the cheesily stupid future segments that open and close the film in space.
Still, the past and present segments of the film provide some decently horrific moments and add to mythology, but the framing sections make the film just feel stupid as a whole.
