The definitive horror movie that put Clive Barker on the map.
The man certainly has a sick taste for the unknown and the grotesque of the door between the pleasures of heaven and hell.
Horror fans will find alot to like here.
Its strange because the villain Pinhead is on the cover but hes not in the movie alot until the climax.
Still theres some good acting and a dark uneasy feeling.
The special effects are quite remarkable being all practical.
The gore factor is right up there too.
Just do yourself a favor and skip all the abysmal sequels.
This is Clive Barker's only masterpiece.
