Review of Hellraiser (1987) by Brendan O — 31 May 2010
Hellraiser is a very gory and grotesque but also a strangely atmospheric and sophisticated horror film. A lot of scenes in this movie are downright inspired from the arrival of the cenobites to the character, Frank's painful resurrection.
But, while downplaying Pinhead and the rest of cenobites was a good move for this film, it kinda created a demand to see more of them in the further sequels, which just help castrated this promising series.
But none of that take away anything from this, If you're looking for a quality horror movie of the 80's then check this one out.
