I don't think Sally Fields plays this character very well, which isn't her fault, it's the director's. She just seems creepy and not believable. The story is also very generic and whatever tone its trying to achieve feels lost when the absurd moments feel out of place and the realistic moments feel forced.
A nice premise not executed fully.
