Review of Hello Herman (2012) by Cora G — 12 Jul 2012
Hello Herman.
The other day I viewed a screening for Hello Herman, directed by Michelle Danner at the beautiful Edgemar Center for the Arts two theater and art gallery complex in Santa Monica. The movie was unbelievably moving. At this day in age, where bullying is a problem infecting schools and universities all over America, and life is constantly being devalued, a movie with as strong of a message as this is completely necessary. Hello Herman follows the haunting story of Herman Howard, who after years of being bullied, executes a school shooting which killing over forty students. A liberal blogger and newscaster, Lax Morales, played by Norman Reedus, gets wind of the story and decides to conduct an interview with Herman. The story unfolds to reveal the consequences of bullying and violence. Each shot captures the value of every human life. All of the actors did a fantastic job of portraying honest characters. This alongside Michelle Danner's creative directing, comes together perfectly in this amazing film. Everyone should experience this fantastic film!
