Review of Hello Herman (2012) by Laura A — 13 Feb 2013
"Hello Herman" not only shows the breakdown of a high school student who has had enough of being bullied, it demonstrates how American society has become more vindictive. This story of an unthinkable crime is shown alongside the media reaction on a political pundit's show, which calls for extreme justice to be shown to Herman Howards (Garrett Backstrom), the sixteen year old criminal mastermind.
All the while, blogger Lax Morales (Norman Reedus) is interviewing Herman and discovering his side of the horrifying story. This narrative is a grim reminder of the importance of human attachment to others, and what happens when those connections are broken.
