Review of Hello, Dolly! (1969) by Mark G — 30 Oct 2008
This is an odd movie, even for a musical. It has all the grand, sweeping routines that seem to go on forever, with the requisite reprises, and choreography of a caliber that just plain does not exist anymore.
The story and characters, however, are hardly on par with the singing and dancing. I only watched this because the movie WALL-E was so in love with it, and let me tell you, there is no part of the actual movie that works as well as the clips in WALL-E.
