Review of Hello, Dolly! (1969) by Brian S — 14 Feb 2009
This is the kind of musical that's just too good to have any serious complaints. sharp wit, fast-paced humour, catchy songs, grandiose dance numbers and a thoroughly entertaining cast (a Barbra Streisand that for once doesn't repulse me).
outstanding directing by Gene Kelly, too--it's a shame he didn't have more to do with the choreography. exorbitantly corny and tremendously enjoyable.
