I can't tell you how surprised I was by this. First of all, I'm fairly comic book savvy...but I had never heard of "Hellboy"...so I went into this movie with a clean slate. No ideas of how the movie SHOULD BE (based on the comic book).
..I just sat back and enjoyed it. It did a nice job of explaining the characters (a must for comic book movies...not everyone in the audience is a comic book nerd)...and the action/story was interesting.
I had fairly low expectations going in, but I left pretty impressed.
