Review of Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988) by James A — 02 Oct 2011
After really digging Hellraiser I, I was hoping for a repeat performance, the first half of the film hums along quite nicely with some good shock moments and some nice thrills. The film really loses it's momentum once they enter the other dimension and becomes about as frightening as Beetlejuice.
It also suffers by humanizing the main villains from the first film. It was just bad enough to make me avoid the third instalment. Like Craven's Freddy 2, Barker should not have let someone else take the helm on this.
