Review of Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988) by Mark N — 16 Apr 2012
A very messy sequel with big ambitions. Segwaying with the original was a good choice and early on things go well as the characters move on and start the next chapter. The Cenobites look the same but still do very little beyond look evil while Pinhead spouts off about all the cool things they could be showing.
. but never do. The Otherworld scenes had potential but long sequences with no action or tension make the story drag until the drab ending closes things up leaving you wanting to see why these creatures are supposed to be so frightening.
