Review of Hell Ride (2008) by Kyle S — 30 Oct 2008
Written, starred, and directed by Quentin Tarantino fanboy Larry Bishop, Hell Ride tells the story of an old-fashioned, ruthless biker gang (led by Bishop, the great Michael Madsen, and Eric Balfour) at war with another gang led by David Carradine and Vinnie Jones, all of whom give fun performances.
The underlining story of this war also involves a dead woman, whom was murdered by Jones and Carradine, little knowing that her love was Bishop and her son was Balfour, who are in it for revenge. This film has the classic Tarantino influences to it, as it combines old grindhouse biker films mixed with psychedelia, ultra-violence, and a WHOLE lot of titties and bush.
The film also sports a fun soundtrack and witty dialogue that tries to rival that heard in Tarantino films, but fumbles here and there. All in all, I enjoyed this movie quite a bit. Dennis Hopper shows up and he's fun to watch.
Also, this film may have some of THE most beautiful women I have ever seen. Good stuff.
