Review of Hell Ride (2008) by Chris P — 16 Nov 2008
Larry Bishop's biker opus is not nearly as clever as it thinks it is, boasting far too much weird dialog that tries to be Tarantino-esque (he produced the pic) , but ends up being painful when delivered by ill-equipped actors (I'm looking at you Leonor Varela).
There's a non-linear plot somewhere in there, and it would be pretty decent if the movie wasn't more concerned with showing the 60-year old Bishop cavorting with young naked women all the time and talking about putting out fires with his fire hose.
I would have personally been interested in seeing more of Michael Madsen, Dennis Hopper, or David Carradine, or maybe Vinnie Jones so I could figure out what kind of accent he was supposed to have. But alas this is Bishop's show and unfortunately he'll never do anything better than his cameo in Kill Bill.
