Like Jesus Camp, Hell House provides an uncanny journey in to the heart of darkness. Religious fanaticism and the bizarre decision making it induces are on full display in this hands off documentary. Ratliff gives the audience everything they need to judge without judging himself.
How can people of hope and light have such a damned dark and hopeless outlook? What have they even been 'saved' from?
