Review of Hell House (2001) by Brody M — 18 Oct 2009
This objective glimpse into Trinity Church's annual Halloween Hell House lacks perspective. The Church's motivations are given cursory scrutiny at best, and I get the feeling that Trinity's 'close to the vest' approach to confronting its own tactics - and the price of getting permission to film its members - essentially crippled Ratliff's ability to make this documentary more probing and insightful.
Intelligent dissenting voices, other than the group of rude, inarticulate teens who accost the Church, would have been nice to provide greater perspective.
