Review of Hell Below (1933) by Allan C — 05 Jun 2013
Most submarine films are set during WWII, so this one gets some added points of interest for being a WWI sub film. There's captain Walter Huston clashing with office Robert Montgomery and the usual on-shore comedy and romance.
It's all pretty standard submarine film fare, but it's well done and actually more effective than many of the submarine films that would follow. There's also a very young Robert Young, of "Father Knows Best" fame.
