Review of Heist (2001) by Vít P — 24 Feb 2009
For once, Mamet dispenses with all but two of his usual team of stage actors and their rather hammy style in favour of a great cast of movie actors who give Mamets familiar dialogue a fresh delivery. As usual, holes everywhere in the plot, but it keeps you gripped all the way so it doesn`t matter! Lindo and DeVito are particularly good, I love that line Lindo gives to one of DeVito`s henchmen when both are pointing guns at each other: "Your weight, and your FATE, right now!" And ofcourse, because it`s a Mamet script, he has to say it twice, say it twice I say! Great stuff!
