Having seen the film and been a part though not onstage of an adaptation of the play, I felt the film did the play justice. At least the production I saw. Sean Mauer cast as Hedwig was incredible. He knows how to work a crowd.
With Lara Hall's genius directing, I remember it was she who first showed me this film. And to this day it remains one of my favorites. Great songs, amazing humor, and Zima. . .
