Review of Heavy Traffic (1973) by Shane S — 20 Jun 2010
One of the most disturbing black comedies I have seen, this animated feature by Ralph Bakshi became his first "universally-received" film before the modern-day reevaluation of the admittedly annoying Coonskin.
It shows how one can be influenced by the world around them, with nice homages to classic films and the hypersexuality that was becoming rampant around that day and time.
Hey - but even though Bakshi can make an animated film for the grown-ups, I still give it a lower rating due to the fact that it's outdated like crazy. Hey, but urban decay still exists, does it?
