The latest episode of southpark (season 12 ep. 3) has some seriously funny allusions to Heavy Metal and I had just, by coincidence, watched this movie again about a week ago; every time I watch HM I enjoy it more; the raw animation and soundtrack (made up of 70s and 80s "fair" music) intertwine to create an absorbing peek into another universe; Canadian voices (Candy et al.
) add to its appeal; "Den of Earth" is an absolute riot with more than a touch of dry humour (obviously spoofing "Conan" type movies).
