Feb 2011 - I was mesmerized by the story and the friendship with the two girls. The reality of the events and the accuracy of how it is portrayed makes it much more attractive as well. I was not super excited about the fantasy scenes and the visual effects and this is unfortunately what has become the focus in Jackson's later movies.
Finally what a casting with the introduction of Winslet and Lynskey.
