Review of Heat (1995) by Marc R — 30 May 2017
It's doused in far less of Mann's pulpy 80's style with a toned down synth score and a less vibrant colour palette. Thematically it's still very similar to his other works; an impeccable character study housed in a crime thriller and a thought provoking parable between the lives of a career criminals and the people who try to stop them.
Mann also affirms his nearly unmatched ability to craft thrilling and realistic firefights.
