Review of Heat (1995) by Yash B — 22 Jul 2018

I think "Heat" is a technically well directed and acted movie. However, as a whole, I feel the movie is a bit overrated. I feel there are more entertaining heist movie's out there. This one feels like a lot of buildup with minimal payoff.

I did like how the characters were given complex backstories and layers but the movie is just way too long. The exposition lasts a pretty long time and I'm not sure the movie needed a near three-hour runtime to get its point across.

Overall, I think it is an okay movie that has some strong moments in the second half and good performances.
