Review of Heat (1995) by Paul R — 28 Oct 2011
Michael Mann's Heat is an exceptional crime thriller starring Al Pacino as Lt. Vincent Hanna who is on the trail of professional criminal Neil McCauley played by Robert De Niro. I see I've already grabbed your attention! How can a film with two powerhouse performance actors go wrong? Well this certainly doesn't disappoint.
(and for the record - the less said about Righteous Kill the better.) It's epically long at 3 hours but its full to the brim with such amazing detail into our leading characters. This is cops and robbers for grown ups.
It's a great action packed film full of drama and the intricate story lines cut and change with skill. This is a story told extremely well. Heat will always stand tall as one of the most accomplished films of it's genre.
Got 3 hours to kill? Watch this.
