Review of Heat (1995) by Nikki W — 26 Jul 2012

This movie is outstanding! Not only does it feature two of cinema's finest actors in Al Pacino and Robert De Niro but is also an intelligently written thriller that keeps you guessing right till the end.

The film has an impressive cast and all do well in each role but it's Al Pacino and Robert De Niro that make this compelling viewing and you get the impression that the two characters would be best friends were they on the same side. The respect they have for each other plays out until the last scene and makes the film extremely powerful.

There's plenty of stand out scenes and I particularly enjoyed when the two leads met for the first time. The street shootout was intense and incredibly well filmed and the ending was satisfying and very well performed. This movie really exceeded my expectations!!
