Review of Heat (1995) by Jonathan D — 27 Jan 2018
This was one of my favorite movies when I saw it back in 1995. I was 18 years old and easily impressionable. I just finished this movie today 23 years later. I can no longer say it is one of my all time favorites movies.
I see the holes in the story along with other issues. Al Pacino is GREAT in this one. De Niro is pretty good, but I just don't buy his love story. I really don't like the ending of this film. De Niro's character (Neal) knew he shouldn't have went after Wayne Grow, it was such an obvious trap.
Also, the Wayne Grow character is an essential part of the story, but when they were going to kill him after the first heist and he just disappears after being on the grown...silly. This movie is still really good, it has an awesome score along with one of the best bank robbery scenes ever filmed.
The shoot out in downtown LA is amazing.
