Review of Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse (1991) by Stephane B — 29 Aug 2010
So, I have never actually gotten around to watching Apocalypse Now (I know, I know, it's on my list) so when I was shown this documentary in one of my film classes, I thought that this would be pointless to watch. Wrong. This is an intense documentary on the creation of art in a hostile environment. It shows a director losing his grip on reality. It's an inspiration to see someone follow their vision through to the end even at personal cost.
This is just a fantastic documentary that makes me want to watch Apocalypse Now as soon as I can.
