Review of Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse (1991) by Danielle M — 20 Dec 2010
Fascinating... I mean... FASCINATING. I've read bits and pieces over the years about a lot of what went on during the making of "Apocalypse Now"... but... holy shnikies. The fact that Eleanor Coppola shot the footage she did throughout the production period of the film.
.. not to mention all the journaling... is just so amazingly fortuitous. This documentary... and the story it tells... is more interesting/incredible than the original film itself. Total must see for movie fans.
Even if you didn't like "Apocalypse Now," if you have any interest at all in the process of film-making and film history... you need to watch this. Thanks again for the tip Eric!
