To me, this film shows how a talent person can become so absorbed in their singular vision that it ends up destroying them. Coppola loses himself in these pretentious ideas that he can write his way out of.
Yet, he is so into himself and what he is trying to say, that he doesn't realize he is doing the exact opposite of what he is preaching!
