Review of Hearts in Atlantis (2001) by Moses M — 16 Jun 2007
The most amazing thing about this movie was not the writing or the story, both amazing, but rather the incredibly beautiful cinematography. Light is used to absolute perfection here, the constant mirror/reflection motif constantly plays with and interests the eye.
Every camera angle is perfect, every camera approach subtle and well-executed. Brilliant, brilliant cinematography. Great acting from Anthony Hopkins and good support from the rest of the cast. Stephen King proves once again that he is a master, and Scott Hicks makes sure we know it.
