Review of Hearts in Atlantis (2001) by Willis H — 07 Nov 2008
This is a fantastic movie set back by just a few problems. First of all, the movie is beautiful. Shot framing and colors are used to great effect. The acting, moods and themes of the movie are also wonderful.
Even though the ending is great, you can't help but feel cheated overall amount of detail about the older version of the main character and his story. The plot feels a little incomplete in general.
But what we do get to see is a great treat. While not as powerful as the Darabont-directed Stephen King clasics the Green Mile and the Shawshank Redemption, it is certainly a great movie that is worth watching.
