With potential to shine even brighter, Hearts Beat Loud still shines with some great original music and standout subtle performances, especially from Kiersey Clemons and Sasha Lane who have unbelievable chemistry.
While a bit cliched, Hearts Beat Loud excels in its light and genuinely funny moments that show character without almost ever explicitly telling us information. Not enough wide shots for my liking and a bit of trouble in the too quickly done serious moments hurt the film a bit but not enough to keep the film from being thoroughly enjoyable and memorable.
