Review of Heartburn (1986) by James M — 05 Aug 2007
A tale about the pain of adultery. A glimpse into the dinner parties of the chattering classes. The launchpad for Nora Ephron's move to the big screen. A great song from Carly Simon. And proof that Jack can make even the minor lines sound classic.
Caught out after an affair by his pregnant wife, he just sighs and does up his bow tie, saying..'Shit.I can't do this right now.' or words to that effect. Clever, touching, funny film.
